  • University of Hawaii Foundation − A $10,000 grant for the annual renewal of the Makana Aloha Foundation scholarship at UH Maui Culinary Academy. The scholarship covers  full tuition for the 2 year program.  Education  http://www.uhfoundation.org/

  • Maui Food Bank − $2,000 matching challenge grant to Maui Food Bank to match Chef Paris'   funds for the "Feed the children" program on Maui. The Arts   https://mauifoodbank.org/
  • Hawaiian Island Land Trust − $25,000 grant for final year of a three year commitment for the 'Founding Few' giving program to be used for the  highest  priorities of the Land trust.  Environmental Conservation  http://www.hilt.org/
  • Lahainaluna High School Foundation − A $20,000 total grant for the Makana Aloha annual Science scholarship.  $5,000 awarded to this year's recipient and $5,000 each for the renewal of  the three past recipients who continued to meet the scholarship standards.   Education  http://www.lahainalunahs.org/
  • Lahainaluna High School Foundation − A $20,000 grant for purchase of new throwing wheels and kilns for the ceramic department to further student development and art enrichment. Education  http://www.lahainalunahs.org/
  • PBS Hawaii − A $25,000 grant to fund the 'Train the Teacher' program of HIKI NO on Maui.  The program helped teachers learn how to use camera and video equipment in order to teach students and prepare them for Hiki No show on PBS.  The Arts   http://pbshawaii.org/

  • Lahaina Arts Association − $8,000 grant to fund the  Kids Art outreach class in Kihei, Maui.  Education  http://www.lahaina-arts.org/
  • Grow Some  Good − A $20,000 grant to fund a part time garden coordinator for the West side of Maui who will establish and manage school gardens at Maui Prep Academy, Princess Nahi'ena'ena Elementary and Lahaina Intermediate school.  Education  http://growsomegood.org/
  • Maui School Garden Network − An $8,500 donation to fund the materials needed for the West Side School Garden Program at Maui Preparatory Academy,  Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School and Lahaina Intermediate school.  Education  http://mauischoolgardennetwork.org/
  • Book Trust − A $20,000 matching challenge grant for Book Trust’s mission to provide children the opportunity to choose and own books.  Our donation was doubled to $40,000 when Book Trust raised $20,000 in matching funding.  Education  http://www.booktrust.org/
  • Assistance Dogs of Hawaii AKA Canine Companions − A $25,000 grant was used as a matching challenge grant to fund the next phase of the scent detection research by Assistance Dogs of Hawaii.  Assistance Dogs of Hawaii trained the service dogs to alert for urinary tract infections which can be life threatening to a wheel chair bound person.  Healthcare  http://assistancedogshawaii.org/
